June 30
Heat finishes off Middle Road, 9-3, advances to final four - The Heat and Middle Road took the field today to play the remaining 2 1/2 innings of a suspended game from Sunday. The girls held Middle Road to one hit in their final three at-bats to clinch a trip to the final four. JamyLynn Toomey was hot on the mound again today, recording five strikeouts. Kelsey Shannon was on her game at the plate, going 3-for-3 (single, double, triple) and scoring two runs. Clara Murphy also went 3-for-3 (2 singles, double). Emily Notaro, Emma Schell, and Jamilah Younger contributed two hits each. The Heat had to wait around to find out their next opponent from the two teams that played following our game. BAGAA II fought off DeHaven for the win, and the semi-final game was set: Heat vs. BAGAA II. The coin toss was held and the Heat drew visiting team. The Heat jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, thanks to consecutive hits from Emily Sharkey, JamyLynn Toomey, Jamilah Younger, and Emma Schell. However, that was all she wrote. The rains came ... again. The game is suspended until tomorrow at 6:30, followed by the Championship Game against Reserve.

June 27
Heat burns Ingomar I Heat, 22-1 - It was the Brighton Heights Heat vs. the Ingomar Heat in the first round of the 12u playoffs at Ingomar. The BHAA's Heat came out on fire in the first inning, scoring seven runs. The ladies never lost the lead and played great defense to hold Ingomar to one run on only six hits. JamyLynn Toomey was back on the mound and recorded three strikeouts. Toomey also went 4-for-4 (3 singles, triple) and scored four times. Kelsey Shannon also went 4-for-4 (4 singles) and scored a run. Other offensive highlights include: Emily Notaro 3-for-4 (3 singles, 3 runs), Jamilah Younger 3-for-3 (single, double, triple, 3 runs), Clara Murphy 3-for-4 (3 singles, 1 run), Emily Sharkey 3-for-4 (3 singles, 3 runs).

June 21
Heat closes out regular season with a 16-14 win over North Hills I - The Heat picked up its ninth win in a row today by defeating North Hills I for the second time in two days. Today's win didn't come easy for the girls, and it was a hard-fought battle all the way to the end. The ladies were trailing by one run going into the top of the seventh and they scored five runs to take the lead for good. The defense held strong to end an attempted rally by NH in the bottom of the seventh for the win. Clara Murphy lead the way offensively, going 4-for-4 and scoring two runs. Several ladies had three hits each - Emily Notaro (2 singles, double, 2 runs), Jamilah Younger (2 doubles, triple, 2 runs), Sidney Watts (3 doubles, 2 runs), Tiana Morgan (3 singles, 2runs) and Kelsey Shannon (3 singles, 1 run). Three ladies contributed two hits each - Emma Schell (2 singles, 2 runs), JamyLynn Toomey (single, double, 2 runs) and Emily Sharkey (2 singles, 1 run). Notaro also pitched a good game, recording five strikeouts. The Heat finished with an 11-2 record. Playoffs for the 12U will begin next week.

June 20
Heat tops North Hills I, 20-16 - After a brief downpour in North Hills, the Heat girls started off hot scoring six runs in the first inning. But North Hills didn't give up, scoring one run in the bottom of the first, three in the third, and nine in the fourth to take a 13-8 lead. The neon green machine answered in the fifth with nine runs. They added two in the sixth and an additional insurance run in the seventh. Offensive highlights included Kelsey Shannon (on a bum ankle) going went 4-for-4 with three doubles and a triple. JamyLynn Toomey had four hits, including three triples and a single. Emily Notaro (scored four runs) and Emma Schell each had three hits, and Clara Murphy added two hits of her own. Each lady crossed the plate at least once tonight.

June 18
Heat edges North Hills III, 11-9 - After scoring three runs in the first, the ladies found themselves battling out of a 9-3 hole. But the Heat turned up the heat in the sixth, tying the score 9-9 and going ahead for good in the seventh. Emily Notaro (3-for-4), Jamilah Younger and Sydney Watts all hit homers. Kasey Bateman and Emily Sharkey both had two hits each. Except for the third inning, the Heat was nearly perfect defensively. JamyLynn Toomey had several great plays on the mound. Clara Murphy is turning into an awesome shortstop, recording several put-outs, including all three in the bottom of the seventh for a 1-2-3 inning.

June 9
Heat tops North Hills 12-5 - The ladies took the field for their third game in two days and North Hills was feeling the heat. After a pretty even game through four innings, the Heat exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth. Leading the way offensively was Kasey Bateman, who went 3-for-3, including a homerun, a double, and a single. Emma Schell was solid at the plate with three singles. Clara Murphy played a strong shortstop and added a triple and two RBIs. JamyLynn Toomey pitched another great game and assisted two double plays with Emily Notaro and Kelsey Shannon.
